What Thai spice will I need to make Thai food home?
In order to cook authentic Thai food at home you will need five spices: black pepper (cayenne), coriander seeds (coriander seeds), turmeric and cinnamon. Each ingredient is unique and plays an integral role in the creation of delicious dishes.

Is Thai cooking made with garlic?
Thai cuisine includes garlic. Garlic is commonly added to salads.
Thai garlic is fried in a mixture of shallots and ginger. Additionally, garlic is often eaten with sticky Rice.
The most common way to eat garlic is to chop it finely and mix it with chilli paste, salt, fish sauce, lime juice, and oil. This mixture is called "Nam Phrik" (namphrik). Nam Phrik is often served alongside grilled chicken, beef, or pork.
What is the difference between cooking with whole spices and using ground spices? Ground Spices?
There is no difference in cooking with whole spices and cooked with ground spices. After harvesting, all spices are ground. It doesn't make a difference in terms of quality.
However, the price differences are significant. Because of the labor involved in making whole spices, they cost more. But the flavour is worth it.
Buy whole spices and you'll often receive additional discounts. An example: If you buy an entire bag full of cinnamon sticks, you might get a discount.
The same applies to nutmeg and cloves, ginger or cardamom. You might be able to save money by buying these spices in bulk.
Whole spices also last longer than ground spices. Ground spices lose their potency rapidly due to oxygenation.
But the main reason why we recommend purchasing whole spices is that they add a lot of character to recipes.
Whole turmeric can be used to make delicious curry. For chicken dishes, whole coriander seeds can be ground to make a spice blend.
The process of grinding spices takes a lot of time. When you buy whole spices, it makes sense to buy a large quantity. This will ensure that you don't run out of spices quickly.
